It was a tiring winter season in the sense that we were constantly confronted with the topic of a "low-snow winter".

It was a tiring winter season in the sense that we were constantly confronted with the topic of a "low-snow winter".

Certainly the amount of snow was and is below average, but the amount of snow alone does not decide whether touring conditions are good or bad! We had above-average touring conditions; only on a few days was the snow quality poor, and the avalanche situation was better than it had been for a long time. Even on the few days with poor snow conditions, careful and experienced ski tourers managed to find decent conditions!
