at 9 o'clock it began to clear, then mostly very good weather on the test tour to the Schafgrübler. First of all: the snow conditions were almost perfect!
As far as snowpack stability is concerned, the level 3 issued today was spot on. Above about 2400m the snowpack is so irregularly consolidated that I had to pull out all the stops to lay an ascent track that did justice to the issued danger level.
It looks like we will have pretty good touring weather at the weekend – the northern stau situation makes it possible!
