Hohe Villerspitze | Franz-Senn-Hütte

Although the technical climbing difficulties are relatively low (a few passages up to max. III), the ascent of the Hohe Villerspitze is a serious alpine undertaking. Steep grassy slopes are followed by rock that is quite unreliable in places. A good sense of direction is also required. The route is protected with bolts, but not as in sport climbing routes! The bolts are far apart and placed so that, used properly, at least a ground fall should not be possible. In the gully that leads from the end of the "schiefer Gang" to the west ridge, there is an increased risk of rockfall when several climbers are in this section.
