On 17.01. my plan was to climb the Horntalspitze to get an idea of the snowpack stability and an overview of the actual snow conditions.
When it became clear during the ascent that the steep summit slope seemed too dangerous under the conditions observed (lots of settling noises and cracks forming), I abandoned my plan!
