Since precipitation began late yesterday morning, about 30cm of snow has fallen at the hut, although yesterday afternoon intense settling of the new snow could be observed at the hut! At higher altitudes, and especially on the glaciers, considerably more fresh snow must be expected, as the settling there was not as intense. From my many years of experience I estimate the depth of new snow up there at about 1/2 metre.
The surrounding weather stations show gusts of wind that also suggest wind transport of snow. So proceed with some caution today.
Since the sun is supposed to take over from midday, I expect good touring conditions again tomorrow.
