The snowpack tests showed that the upper 50cm of the snowpack rest on a weak layer and, in the compression test EXTENDENT COLUMN TEST-ECT (90cmx30cm), were released at a load of ECTP12@85! In addition, over the last 3 days there was a large natural release (slab avalanche) which buried the start of the winter route! There was also a large glide-snow avalanche behind the Alpeiner Alm from the Blerchner; there are currently 2 quite sizeable glide cracks there, which suggest further glide-snow avalanches!
